Hangor 1.0

Prototype AUV

Hangor 1.0

The foundational AUV platform that started the Hangor product line.

Product Overview

Mind Door Underwater AUV

Hangor 1.0 was developed to prove the core ideas behind Mind Door’s underwater autonomy platform. It validated maneuverability, sensor integration, propulsion layout, mechanical packaging and early autonomous mission behavior while giving the team the engineering experience needed to build Hangor 2.0.

Modular vehicle architecture

Designed for easy upgrades, subsystem integration and field maintenance.

Autonomous operation

Built for mission planning, perception, navigation and underwater task execution.

Stable underwater motion

6-DOF movement enabled by an eight-thruster configuration and closed-loop control.

Subsystems

Built as a complete underwater robotics platform.

Mechanical Platform

A distributed modular frame enabled fast iteration, easy subsystem access and rapid mechanical prototyping during early testing.

Autonomy Foundation

The first platform established the software and control baseline for underwater navigation, perception, sensor integration and mission execution.

Lessons Learned

Testing Hangor 1.0 revealed the need for improved enclosure reliability, centralized power architecture and easier maintenance — directly shaping Hangor 2.0.

Architecture

System-level design for autonomy.

Mind Door’s AUV architecture connects compute, sensors, propulsion, power, safety and external mechanisms into one integrated platform.
